▌ The dose of background ambient gamma radiation, existing in nature, has general values between 0.03 – 0.3 µSv / h (micro Sievert / hour). This “base” radiation is conditioned by the diverse content of the soil in natural radioactive components such as uranium, potassium, etc.

▌ 80% of the dose received by people in the world (on average) comes from: cosmic ray radiation - which comes from outside the atmosphere - and those emitted by these natural materials. The rest is caused almost entirely by medical procedures that use radiation (X-ray diagnoses, CT, ... etc).
